About Six Sixteen
Covering comics and media for the discerning Marvel fan.
Six Sixteen covers Marvel comics and the cultural universe that surrounds them, from film and TV to games and fandom. Marvel Comics is the starting point, but anything adjacent is fair game. Six Sixteen is written and produced by Deryck Hodge, for discerning fans and sophisticated readers everywhere.
I say discerning fan because Six Sixteen is meant to be a site that respects your time and assumes you have taste. If you're like me, you don't want more click-bait, ad farm style comic sites. I'm making the site I've always wanted, one that respects the time of its readers.
In the launch post for this site, I wrote:
I will promise you this, though—I will spend time on what I post and I will respect your time. I’ll think deeply about what I’m writing. I’ll have an opinion and a point of view, and if I post it here, it will be because I think you will find it interesting.
Don't people say "six one six?"
The site's name "Six Sixteen" is a play on the Earth-616 name for the canonical Marvel universe. I know, I know. Most people say "six one six." Six Sixteen just had a ring to it. Hopefully, it also indicates the tone and perspective of the way Marvel comics, culture, and more is covered here.

Disclosures
I work within the media and entertainment industry as a software engineer and web developer. My day job is at CNN, which is within Warner Bros. Discovery. I don't have any connection to DC Comics at WBD, but just because my work is under the same parent company, I want to note that connection. Anything I cover here, including anything DC Comics related, is because I think it will be interesting to this site's readers, not because of my connection to WBD.
The thoughts and opinions represented here are entirely my own.
