Polygon lists every confirmed Marvel Studios project for the next 3 years
From abundance to scarcity, with some bangers to look forward to soon.
The MCU went from a flood of content in the pandemic to a relative dearth of films and TV shows here lately. We were living in abundance, and now we’re back to scarcity. With that in mind, I appreciate this list from Polygon. Michael McWhertor writes in Every Marvel movie and TV show coming through 2029:
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never been more unpredictable. After a handful of duds, including The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Captain America: Brave New World, Marvel Studios is rethinking how it rolls out new movies and TV shows. While Marvel is riding high on the success of billion-dollar movies like Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it's slowed its release pace considerably in recent years.
In 2026, Marvel hopes to get its reliable blockbuster franchises back on track with the release of Avengers: Doomsday. After that, the studio has just one movie on the books for 2027: Avengers: Secret Wars, an event film that's expected to be something of a soft reset for the MCU.
I could quibble with the use of the word “duds,” but overall, point taken. I do think Marvel Studios is starting to hit its stride again, and I appreciate this list. It’s a great overview of everything Coming Soon™.
